As European betting powerhouse Unibet prepares to start its Pennsylvania online operation, it and the Philadelphia Eagles have announced a multi-year partnership.

Unibet will receive a prominent branding presence at Lincoln Financial Field under the first such partnership agreement the Eagles have announced with a gambling operator. Unibet will be prominently featured on the stadium’s digital billboard — the Eagles Nest Tower — and at the newly constructed Northwest Suites on the main concourse.

The Unibet name will also appear across various Eagles print and digital media, including team publications, social media channels, and PhiladelphiaEagles.com.

“Unibet’s reputation as a global leader in the online gambling space has helped the company establish a strong, emerging footprint in the Philadelphia market,” said Catherine Carlson, senior vice president of revenue and strategy for the Eagles. “We are proud to align ourselves with a company that is fully dedicated to innovation, the customer experience, and responsible gaming.”

Deal echoes one Unibet recently signed with Devils

The marketing arrangement is similar to one Unibet signed last month with the New Jersey Devils at the Prudential Center, shortly after the company entered the New Jersey market with an online casino and sports betting app. With the spread of legalized sports betting in major metropolitan markets over the past year, such deals between gambling operators and professional sports franchises have become increasingly common.

In Pennsylvania, Unibet is the retail sportsbook operator at Mohegan Sun Pocono and its officials have stated their intent to begin related online sportsbook and casino operations this month.

“As we look to grow our footprint in the U.S., it only made sense to partner with one of the largest, most respected, and loved teams in the NFL,” said Arnas Janickas, Unibet’s head of U.S. marketing. “The Eagles’ unmatched fan engagement and relentless innovation in digital space definitely helped to make this partnership a reality.”

Unibet is part of the Kindred Group, which has operated online gambling for 22 years in Europe, Australia, and elsewhere. It is hoping for an increased presence in the U.S. beyond Pennsylvania and New Jersey in coming months and years.
